Morelli Law Firm can announce that the motion seeking court approval of the agreed-upon settlement terms in the class action against Red Bull has been granted. The Austrian-based energy company, famous for its promise to “give you wings”, is accused of falsely advertising that its energy drinks enhance performance, concentration and reaction speed, and has agreed to pay over $13 million to settle the class action.
The preliminary approval of the class action settlement is great news for anybody who falls into the Settlement Class, which is defined in the court order as “All persons who purchased Red Bull Products in the United States during the Class Period” (“from January 1, 2002 up to and including the date Class Notice is provided to the Settlement Class Members”). The Settlement Class excludes Red Bull employees, defendants, distributors and federal judges who have presided over the matter (for a full list of excluded parties, click here).
The Order appointed Morelli Law Firm as Class Counsel, with the final fairness hearing scheduled for May 1, 2015. For the full Order, click here. For more information about the Red Bull class action, click here.
