A Missouri jury slammed Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and its talc supplier with yet another substantial verdict in a lawsuit filed by a woman who developed ovarian cancer after using the company’s talc-base baby powder on her genitals. The verdict, worth a whopping $70 million, comes as the third massive verdict in the state’s talc litigation and is among the highest awarded in cases against J&J.
Fatal Amtrak Collision Nearly One Year After Previous Accident
An Amtrak passenger train derailed Sunday morning in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, just southwest of Philadelphia. According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and data collected from the onboard event recorder – a device similar to an airplane’s black box recorder – the train was traveling at 106 miles per hour when it collided with an industrial backhoe on the tracks, resulting in the death of the backhoe operator and a nearby administrator who was on foot.
Amtrak Train Derails In Kansas, Injuries Reported In The Dozens
An Amtrak passenger train left Los Angeles in mid-March 2016, bound for Chicago, and derailed catastrophically in the predawn hours of Monday the 14 th by the time it reached rural Kansas. Reports say that five passenger carsof the train’s nine in total derailed, rolling them dangerously onto their sides and off the tracks.
