Michael Schlesinger is a leading New York trial attorney known for his work in personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, labor law, mass tort, and commercial litigation. As head of the medical malpractice department at Morelli Law Firm, Mr. Schlesinger has secured some of the highest settlements in the state, including, most recently, settlements of $10.5 million, $6.5 million, $6.045 million, and $5 million. He also handles several of the firm’s most substantial personal injury matters, resulting in recoveries ranging from high seven figures to high eight figures. Since joining the firm, he has served as lead trial lawyer or as a member of the trial team in cases that produced multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements, including verdicts of $102 million, $12 million, and $9 million. Mr. Schlesinger appears often in courts throughout New York City and upstate New York and is highly regarded and respected by the Judges he appears in front of, as well as his adversaries, which positions him as an effective negotiator. A recently retired New York State Judge describes Mr. Schlesinger as “a highly skilled trial attorney who is a zealous advocate for his clients.”
Mr. Schlesinger received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1995 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1991. Prior to law school, he worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., for U.S. Senator Herb Kohl. While attending Fordham, he also worked for a premier law firm specializing in white-collar criminal cases.
He is admitted to practice in New York, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Claims. Mr. Schlesinger has also been called in to try cases in states across the country.
