Associate
Joseph M. Nejathaim is an associate at Morelli Law Firm, where his practice focuses on personal injury, nursing home negligence, Labor Law, and Surrogate’s Court matters, including wrongful death and infant compromise proceedings. Since joining the Firm, Joseph has been an active member of litigation teams that have recovered significant verdicts and settlements on behalf of injured individuals and families across New York. He also serves as one of the Firm’s primary legal writers, authoring motions and briefs across a wide range of matters.
Joseph has played an instrumental role in securing settlements for his clients, including recoveries of $2,100,000 and $2,000,000, among others. In addition to securing favorable resolutions, Joseph negotiates with government agencies to reduce outstanding lien amounts — maximizing the recovery that clients actually take home at the end of their cases.
Prior to joining the Firm, Joseph served as an Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice within the Executive Office of Immigration Review, where he handled federal administrative litigation. Joseph graduated cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he clerked for the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He holds a B.A. from SUNY Geneseo.
Joseph is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York and is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
