A 21-year-old college student has won $12.5 million in compensation for being sexually abused by a minister working for the Florida Baptist Convention, Inc. of Jacksonville, Florida, who had been accused of sexual assault allegations in Maryland and Alabama prior to coming to Florida. The victim, who was 13 years old at the time of the assault, is the first sex abuse victim to ever receive a jury verdict against a state-wide Baptist religious organization.
