A Night to Celebrate Advancements in the Brain Injury Community
The event, held at Manhattan’s 267 5th Avenue’s beautiful Midtown Loft & Terrace, was a time to honor those who have made major contributions to the study of brain injury.
As in years past, the Journey of Hope Gala is a fundraising event including a cocktail hour, dinner, live entertainment, awards, and a silent auction to assist organizations serving those living with the effects of brain injury.
The goal of the Brain Injury Association of New York State is to minimize brain damage through prevention and to support, educate, and advocate for people and families affected by brain injury.

Morelli Law Firm’s History with Traumatic Brain Injuries
When Mark Perez was building a booth for Best Buy at Live Nation’s Jones Beach theater in December of 2018, a forklift drove into it, causing him to suffer a traumatic brain injury. In December 2019, the Morelli Law Firm won a verdict for Perez for $102 million.
A $20 million pain and suffering award was upheld after Morelli argued before the Appellate Division, First Department. This was the biggest award ever upheld in New York. Mr. Morelli also litigated on behalf of Tracy Morgan against Walmart for a TBI resulting from a truck accident caused by the retailer. An undisclosed settlement was reached.
Since the appeals court’s ruling awarding Perez $20 million for his suffering, additional information has come to light regarding what New York personal injury attorneys may be able to achieve for their clients.
