Mauricia Grant, a 32-year-old African-American woman, was NASCAR's first black female Official. For two seasons, from 2005 until her wrongful termination in October 2007, Ms. Grant not only worked as an Official for NASCAR's Busch Series, but also as the symbol of NASCAR's purported commitment to diversity. Unfortunately, throughout her employment, Ms. Grant was subjected to virulent racism and sexual harassment by her co-workers and supervisors. When Ms. Grant complained, she was promptly fired. Morelli Ratner represents Ms. Grant in her $250 million lawsuit against NASCAR.
