We at Morelli Law Firm were the
first law firm in the country to file suit against the manufacturer of
a Testosterone Replacement Therapy medication for the cardiovascular injuries our client suffered. Since that time,
many more cases have been filed by our firm and others, and the litigation
has taken off.
Low-testosterone drugs come in several forms – including pill, injection,
gel, cream, and implant. Testosterone levels in men naturally decline
over time. Over the past few years, a group of medications designed to
reverse that trend, thereby boosting sex drive, strengthening bones, and
increasing muscle mass in patients using the treatments, have come into
common use. However, they have also been linked to serious cardiovascular
injuries, some fatal, including blood clots, heart attacks and strokes.
Since we filed the first case in February 2014, the FDA has looked into
the matter and determined that the aggressive advertising of these drugs
followed by a flurry of prescriptions – approximately 5.3 million
in 2011 alone – deserves a second look. Specifically, the
manufacturers have been ordered by the FDA to revise their prescribing
information to better warn patients about the risk of serious cardiovascular injury.
If you or someone you know has been prescribed testosterone replacement
therapy and suffered a cardiovascular injury,
you have the right to take legal action against the company that manufactured and advertised that drug, and to
recover monetary damages.
