In 2009, Morelli won the largest vaccine verdict in U.S. history – a
$22.5 million award for a man who contracted polio 30 years earlier when changing his daughter's
diaper after she had been given a live oral polio vaccine. Morelli notes,
"It is very gratifying when a jury tells a large corporation to mend
its ways and clean up its act."
In 2011, Morelli secured a
$95 million verdict in Illinois for a former employee of a furniture rental company for its
failure to respond properly to her complaints of sexual harassment and
assault. The verdict is the largest single-plaintiff sexual harassment
verdict on record.
Committed to giving a voice to injury victims, Benedict Morelli founded
the firm in 1998. Today, more than 16 years later, this goal has expanded
to include new practice areas and two office locations.
"Historically, we have advocated for the little person against all
odds," Morelli says, "and we never shy away from a difficult
case if we believe it is meritorious."
Since 1977, Morelli has tried every type of civil case with extraordinary
results. “Trying cases is a lost art because our world is based
more on mediation and arbitration rather than litigation," Morelli
says, "but our firm has been established to handle cases from start
to finish. In fact, it is our trial experience that has allowed us to
litigate important cases against some of the largest law firms and corporations
in the world."
The combined talents, resources and resolve of the firm's legal personnel
provide enormous opportunities for our prospective clients and for the
growth of Morelli Law Firm as a whole.
