Koren L. Cohen is an associate at Morelli Ratner PC and concentrates her practice in the areas of pharmaceutical mass tort, employment discrimination and commercial litigation. Ms. Cohen is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, and litigates matters in State and Federal courts from New York to California.
Ms. Cohen is a member and committee co-chair of the American Association for Justice. She is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and has been published in the Bill of Particulars, the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute’s quarterly magazine. She has also drafted continuing legal education materials disseminated by NYSTLI.
In 2002, Ms. Cohen earned a B.A. in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Maryland, College Park. There, she was a frequent member of the Dean’s List and held a prestigious internship at the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, a division of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. In 2005, Ms. Cohen earned a J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law. During law school, Ms. Cohen gained litigation experience as a law clerk for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Boston, the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, the Maryland Securities Division and NASD Market Regulation.
Ms. Cohen began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, where she prosecuted domestic, juvenile and general criminal cases. As an ADA, Ms. Cohen first chaired both jury trials and bench trials. Prior to joining Morelli Ratner PC, Ms. Cohen was an associate at two Boston law firms where she represented municipalities, sureties and corporations in the areas of products liability, fidelity and surety, mass tort, insurance defense and construction.
